What is Timbre?, Science of Sound
Par un écrivain mystérieux
Description
Musicians from the Minnesota Orchestra visit the Science Museum of Minnesota to explain how each instrument has its own unique sound, or voice, which is known as timbre, then they examine the different factors that affect each instrument's timbre.
Activity #6 in the Concert Guide asks learners to listen to the Orchestra's performance of Bunch's Varoom! and think about the different sounds made by instruments of different materials and of different sizes.
