They offer much more protection to the fork stanchion from roost and rocks which makes helps prolong the service of your forks. When you scratch your fork tube it creates a bur and scratches the seals causing them to leak. Keeping the seals in good condition as important as ever because newer bikes are beginning to transition air sprung technology.
