The free software allows you:

Ability to read and clear codes
Ability to read and clear shadow codes which may be hidden by normal OBD2 readers (BMW specific only codes)
Freeze frame data, which gives you the ability to view when the code was actually triggered

*Note: The free software does not allow you to change or modify vehicle settings. The OBD2 to USB cable will connect with other 3rd party software that can give you this ability, but the software we provide only allows for the above behaviors.
