Old Forester Bourbon Whiskey From The Greene Grape – greenegrapewine
Par un écrivain mystérieux
Description
The first Americaln bourbon to be sold in bottles, rather than barrels, Old Forester has a long heritage. Named after and endorsed by the respected physician, Dr. William Forrester of Louisville, KY in the 1870s, the Brown family managed to get it approved for medicinal purposes during Probibition, making it one of the oldest continuously operating distilleries in the United States. Using about 50% more rye than typical bourbons, OF is less sweet and lighter on the palate. It has a remarkably good balance of flavors with depth and refinement rivaling much more expensive brands, including Scotch. The founders believed that they were on a par with the Scots, so you will find no 'e' in the spelling of whiskey on the label. An unexpected treasure that is also a bargain. Sweet!
