The OEM Plastic oil filter cap is prone to cracking and breaking over time. The best cure for this is to switch to an all-metal cover like this one from CTS. Made from billet aluminum this cap screws in place of the old one for better longevity and looks. What's more, is that this cap come with a built-in heat shield designed to help shed some heat from the oil as it passes through the filter housing.
